Prevention & Treatment of Material Sticking on Polymer Diffusion Welders
Jul 22,2026
Polymer diffusion welders are widely used for copper-aluminum flexible connections, busbars and dissimilar metal joints in energy storage, power equipment and rail transit. Atomic metallurgical bonding ensures reliable product performance. Material sticking during welding damages machining precision and workpiece quality. Below are preventive measures and emergency handling steps.

I Root Causes of Sticking
1.Non-standard workpiece pre-treatment
2.Mismatched welding parameters
3.Abnormal core equipment components
4.Irregular welding process & operation
II Preventive Measures
1.Standardize workpiece surface pre-treatment to eliminate sticking risks at source.
2.Optimize welding parameters to avoid abnormal adhesion.
3.Complete routine equipment maintenance to keep components in good condition.
4.Optimize welding procedures and standardize operation steps.
5.Strengthen workshop environment management to reduce indirect sticking risks.
III Post-Sticking Handling Procedures
1.Shut down equipment and cut off power, wait for workpieces, electrodes and heating modules to cool naturally.
2.Light adhesion: Use special scraper and copper brush to peel residues evenly with gentle force.
3.Severe adhesion: Apply low-temperature heating to slightly soften the bonded layer, then peel off gently.
4.After stripping, clean welding slag and impurities on graphite and workpieces; check scratches and deformation of parts, repair defects then conduct trial welding.
5.Analyze sticking causes, adjust processes before mass production to avoid repeated failures.
