Capacitor Discharge Welder

 

Capacitor Discharge Resistance Welding (or CD Welding) is a special form of Resistance Spot Projection Welding in which the welding energy is provided by the release of energy stored in a large capacitor bank.
The principle of capacitor discharge spot welder, or CD spot welder, is that a group of high capacity capacitors are charged and stored by a small transformer in advance, and then the welding parts are discharged and welded by a high power resistance welding transformer.

 

Capacitor Discharge Welder Features

1. The outstanding characteristics are shorter discharge time and high instantaneous secondary current.
2. Quite small heat effect after welding, and small distortion, deformation and discoloration of welding workpieces.
3. Minimal heat affected zone, minimal alteration of work piece metallurgy
4. Long electrode life (usually does not require cooling due to low heat impact).
5. Low equipment maintenance.
6. Data collection and monitoring standard in all models.
7. Systems available in 2 and 3 head models
8. The high-power CD spot welder is suitable for multi-spot projection welding, ring projection welding, sealing projection welding. Low-power CD welder is suitable for welding precision metal components.
