What is the cause of weak welding in spot welder? [DCS26]

It is a common problem that the welding joint is not firm in spot welding. This problem is usually caused by many factors. The following are several common reasons of weak weld in spot welding.

1. Electrode damage

Electrode is one of the main parts of spot welder, which is the part of conducting current in welding process. If the electrode is damaged or not conducting properly, the welder will not work properly, which will reduce the welding efficiency and accuracy.

The electrode is affected by wear and thermal expansion, so it needs to be trimmed and replaced in time.

2. Insufficient welding pressure

Welding pressure has a great influence on welding effect, and insufficient pressure may lead to weak welding point. Lack of proper pressure may also cause the electrode to be insufficient to transmit current and the welding to fail. The suitable welding pressure is selected according to the hardness and thickness of the required welding material.

3. Clean the dirt

Check the electrode, cable and other parts of the spot welding machine from time to time whether there is oil, paint or dirt. Remove and clean them timely. If these problems are not solved in a timely manner, the normal operation of the welding equipment will be affected.

4. Power issues

The power source is the foundation of welding efficiency and quality, so the normal work of the welder and the excellence of welding effect are closely related to the power source. If the quality of power supply is not good, it will lead to current instability, uneven resistance and other problems, at a result of poor welding effect.

5. Welding time

The welding time is closely related to the welding effect. If the welding time is insufficient or too long, it is easy to lead to weak welding point, or short circuit, overheating and other problems. Set the appropriate welding time according to the actual situation to ensure the stable welding effect.
